Rare martian lake delta spotted by Mars Express
The European Space Agency (ESA)’s Mars Express orbiter has found something extremely rare on Mars: a delta. In the first photo, we see Holden (big one on the left) and Eberswalde (deteriorated one on the right) craters.
If you look to the top-right side (north-west, since north is to the right) of Eberswalde, you can make out a distinct delta where water once flowed into the crater.
Can’t see it? Take a look at the second, zoomed-in photo! Wowza!
